20 Weeks-Late again

I will try and get better, but it seems everytime I go to write a post I get sidetracked or busy. But here is my 20 week update and I will try super hard to add my 21 week post on Monday. I will also ask Mike to take a new picture of me, I am pretty sure I had my first little pop...finally!

How far along: 20 (20w 4 d technically)

Total weight gain/loss: As of Saturday up 7.4lbs. Tomorrow I will weigh in again, my guess is somewhere around 8-9lbs.

Sleep: I am getting up at least 3 times a night to pee...man this is going to be a long second half.

Best moment this week: Just bought 2 diaper covers from abbyslane...love pay day!

Movement: Flutters, maybe very light kicks...I am def. feeling it daily about 2 inches below my belly button. I can't wait until Mike can feel it too!!

Food cravings: not sure this week....I am about 2 eat my second scoop of peanutbutter so I will go with that.

Food aversions: still meat that is cooked in my house. Wed night I made my favorite type of chicken (lemon butter) and I had to force myself to eat half of eat, Thurs I got fried chicken from popeyes for Mike and I and I ate every bite. I am guessing it is just the over powering smell in the house that weirds me out.

Gender: BOY

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: not having sudden overwhemling urge to pee, usually once I have gotten in bed.

What I am looking forward to: Having Mike feel him kick. Hearing Mike talk to him...I can't wait until he does that.

Weekly Wisdom: Cloth Diapering is the way to go! So happy with our choice to do this eventhough some people don't have faith in us. It is SO much cheaper and eco-friendly. My little sister should be so proud :)

Milestones: I made it to 20 weeks!

How your baby's growing:
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)

He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

Nursery Bedding and Other things BRU related

So today we picked out the nursery bedding. Well I decided and sent Mike a picture for him to ok it. He was nice and smart enough to say it was fine, I am assuming he likes it but I am not sure it is quite the chicago bears theme he was probably thinking of. I will have to tell him once our little boy gets his "big boy room" Mike can go all out with the chicago bears theme. But when he is a baby it is all cutesy. It is SO cute! I love it!!! Here is a picture:

We pretty much finished with the registry. I am happy with it. I think we have a lot of good things on there and registered for all of the things we need. I am trying to stay junk and clutter free! We are hoping to get the things off of there because I spent a lot of time researching and getting the best stuff for us and our little boy :)

19 weeks-WAY late!!!

How far along: 19 weeks (really almost 20)

Total weight gain/loss: As of today up 7.4lbs.

Sleep: It is wonderful!

Best moment this week: Finding out we were having a baby boy :)

Movement: Flutters

Food cravings: back to salt...pringles

Food aversions: chicken, and pretty much any meat that gets cooked in my house...so weird!

Gender: BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: sleeping through the night.

What I am looking forward to: Feeling the first kick...I am only feeling flutters.

Weekly Wisdom: Making name lists is helpful.

Milestones: I made it to 19 weeks!

How your baby's growing:
Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

See what your baby looks like this week.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:
Think you're big now? You'll start growing even faster in the weeks to come. As a result, you may notice some achiness in your lower abdomen or even an occasional brief, stabbing pain on one or both sides — especially when you shift position or at the end of an active day. Most likely, this is round ligament pain. The ligaments that support your uterus are stretching to accommodate its increasing weight. This is nothing to be alarmed about, but call your practitioner if the pain continues even when you're resting or becomes severe.

You may be noticing some skin changes, too. Are the palms of your hands red? Nothing to worry about — it's from the extra estrogen. You may also have patches of darkened skin caused by a temporary increase in pigment. When these darker patches appear on your upper lip, cheeks, and forehead, they're called chloasma, or the "mask of pregnancy." You may also notice some darkening of your nipples, freckles, scars, underarms, inner thighs, and vulva. That darkened line running from your belly button to your pubic bone is called the linea nigra, or "dark line."

These darkened spots will probably fade shortly after delivery. In the meantime, protect yourself from the sun, which intensifies the pigment changes. Cover up, wear a brimmed hat, and use sunscreen when you're outdoors. And if you're self-conscious about your "mask," a little concealing makeup can work wonders

First Offical Trip to BRU

What a wonderful weekend I just had, my parents came into town on Friday night which was great! On Saturday we woke up early, went to breakfast and headed out to Babies R Us to start our little ones registry. It is so much fun, at least for my mom and I. My poor dad had to follow us around, push the cart and check off things as I registred for it. Poor or lucky Mike depending on how you look at it had to work. But since we don't know whether or not it is a boy or girl we didn't do any of the fun stuff like the nursery or anything gender specific so he didn't miss too much. Next Monday I am sure Mike and I will be back at BRU as soon as we find out what we are having to start adding fun gender specific things. My parents bought us 2 big items for the baby this weekend that we really wanted and needed which was great. Mike and I are very lucky to have them. Here's what they got us:

All in all it was a great weekend!!

18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: As of Saturday up 5.6 lbs.

Sleep: It is wonderful!

Best moment this week: Seeing my parents and them helping me start the baby registery.

Movement: I am pretty sure I have felt a few, I think...I thought last week for sure, now I am not so sure again...I am ready for the kick so I know for sure.

Food cravings: back to fruit, yum, apples and yogurt.

Food aversions: Nothing really

Gender: We find out 1 week from today

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: having a drink with my parents on the back porch when they come to visit.

What I am looking forward to: My next OB appt. on Wednesday and one week from today finding out the gender of the baby.

Weekly Wisdom: Research is important when picking out things for your LO!

Milestones: I made it to 18 weeks!

How your baby's growing:
Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. His blood vessels are visible through his thin skin, and his ears are now in their final position, although they're still standing out from his head a bit. A protective covering of myelin is beginning to form around his nerves, a process that will continue for a year after he's born. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, but he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.

See what your baby looks like this week.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:
Hungry? An increase in appetite is pretty common about now. Make it count by choosing meals and snacks that are rich in nutrients instead of empty calories (chips, French fries, candy, and other sweets). Bigger, more comfortable clothes are a must now as your appetite and waistline grow.

Your cardiovascular system is undergoing dramatic changes, and during this trimester your blood pressure will probably be lower than usual. Don't spring up too fast from a lying or sitting position or you might feel a little dizzy.

From now on, when you do lie down, it's best to lie on your side — or at least partly tilted to one side. (When you lie flat on your back, your uterus can compress a major vein, leading to decreased blood return to your heart.) Try placing a pillow behind you or under your hip or upper leg for comfort.

If you haven't already had a second-trimester ultrasound, you'll probably have one soon. This painless procedure helps your practitioner check how your baby's growing, screen for certain birth defects, check the placenta and umbilical cord, determine whether the due date you're working with is accurate, and see how many babies you're carrying. During the exam, you might see your baby moving around or sucking his thumb. Bring your partner along, and be sure to ask for a printout for your baby's first photo album!

17 Weeks Today

How far along: 17 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: As of Saturday up 4.4 lbs.

Sleep: I love sleep!!! I wish I could get more.

Best moment this week: Seeing that I now have a very little bump...sort of at least

Movement: I am pretty positive I am feeling flutters, not all the time, I am not sure I am even feeling it everyday, but I have def. felt a few.

Food cravings: brownie mix!

Food aversions: Nothing in particular, but I am feeling picky.

Gender: We find out 2 weeks from today

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? Innie, but there is now a darker circle around it...like a birthmark. I am not sure what that is.

What I miss: sleeping through the night without getting up at night to pee.

What I am looking forward to: My parents are coming to visit on Friday for the weekend. I get to start the babies registery this weekend...yeah!!!!!

Weekly Wisdom: At least I have an excuse for forgetting everything!

Milestones: I made it to 17 weeks!

How your baby's growing:
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

See what your baby looks like this week.

Note: Every baby develops a little differently — even in the womb. Our information is designed to give you a general idea of your baby's development.

How your life's changing:
Starting to feel a bit off balance? As your belly grows, your center of gravity changes, so you may begin to occasionally feel a little unsteady on your feet. Try to avoid situations with a high risk of falling. Wear low-heeled shoes to reduce your risk of taking a tumble; trauma to your abdomen could be dangerous for you and your baby. You'll also want to be sure to buckle up when you're in a car — keep the lap portion of the seat belt under your belly, drawn snugly across your hips, and also use the shoulder harness, which should fit snugly between your breasts.

You may also notice your eyes becoming drier. Using over-the-counter lubricating drops may help. If your contact lenses become uncomfortable, try wearing them for shorter stretches of time. If you still have discomfort, switch to glasses until after you give birth.

I love Saturdays

I love Saturdays....it is 1:15pm in the afternoon and I just got out of bed about 45mins. ago. I have been up for the most part Since 7:30 but it feels great to just lay in bed with nothing to do. This is my one day a week to just be lazy. So I am going to spend the day looking online at babies r' us and target at baby stuff and sit in my pj's. Poor Mike is at work and won't be home until Monday. He is working OT for us. Hopefully soon we will have enough in savings that we can cut back on the OT and I can quit my second job. Just a few more months but in the end it will all be worth it. Oh and one more thing since today is Saturday I weighed myself, 135.6, down .4 pounds since last Saturday and up 4.4 pounds since my BFP.
