8 Weeks Today

I haven't updated in a while. A lot of new things have happened. Mike and I went home to tell our families we were having a baby and they were all SO excited. I think my parents called everyone they have known in the last 20 years! Mike's parents are also very happy. So now that my mom knows the offical planning has begun! I am so excited.

New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

How far along: 8 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: As of last Sunday down 1.2 pounds, but we will see tomorrow on weight day.

Sleep: I slept on a blow up air bed for the last week at my parents. Never again while pregnant! I was SO swore on our trip back home yesterday it was awful. Poor Mike felt so bad, I should have had him sleep on the air bed!

Best moment this week: Telling my family (last week)

Movement: Nope

Food cravings: Fruit, I figure since I will probably have months of cravings that are bad for me, having a craving that is actually healthy is a good thing!

Food aversions: Fast food. Mike had BK the other day and I thought I was going to throw up smelling it.

Gender: My feeling is a girl right now, but who knows.

Labor Signs: None

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: Blue Moon

What I am looking forward to: Starting to buy things

Weekly Wisdom: Being bloated sucks! I am ready for a cute bump!!

Milestones: I made it to 8 weeks!
